The Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance is responsible for the day to day operations of UMKC’s Compliance office, including providing rules interpretations for coaches, departmental staff, student-athletes, prospective student-athletes, University personnel, alumni, and boosters. Will assist with creating a comprehensive compliance rules education program. Monitoring efforts in the areas of recruiting, student-athlete employment, initial and continuing eligibility, financial aid, and other duties as assigned. Monitoring of CARA and playing and practice seasons. Assist with any reporting, investigating and responding to possible alleged compliance violations. Manage and process NCAA violations and waivers through RSRO. Coordinate the reporting of the NCAA Student Assistance Fund. Attend Conference and NCAA meetings and seminars. Provide research and legislative recommendations on NCAA and Conference voting. Conduct initial investigation on possible rule violations. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships on campus and within the Missouri System. Assist will all other duties as they may be assigned.
The position will have supervisory responsibilities over the Manager of Compliance, in addition to several interns and graduate assistants.
