This is a full-time, benefits eligible associate director track & field /associate head coach appointment that also includes teaching in the required Physical Education program. The coaching and associate director responsibilities for the Men’s and Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field program will include but not be limited to: coaching and supervision of the jumps group for men and women, including the recruiting of prospective student-athletes for this competition group, counseling student-athletes and home meet setup in the event area. In addition this position will coordinate and reconcile team travel and logistics; oversee team development activities such as leadership training and conflict resolution, as well as manage mentorship programs for team and alumni. This position should be and continue to remain current in professional development for both the sport and physical education and must be knowledgeable in regard to NCAA compliance with NCAA rules and regulations. Teaching responsibilities include instruction in the required physical education course program. Additional responsibilities may include department wide duties as assigned.
3-5 years coaching experience preferably at the college/university level. A Bachelor's degree is required preferably in a field related to physical education and/or proven instructional experience. Master’s degree is preferred. Sport specific certification in jumps is required, preferably recent USTFCCCA specialty. Proven experience in recruiting to a highly selective institution is desirable. Strong administrative and interpersonal/communication skills and computer skills are essential. Appropriate certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Biohazards are required within 30 days of hire. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a background check.
