Manhattan College, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking applications for vacant position of part time Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach.
The successful candidate is responsible for assisting in practice planning and implementation - specifically attack/offense, recruiting, academic support, player development and evaluation, scouting/film analysis, team strategy, funding raising, day to day program administration. Must be committed to assist in managing the program within the guidelines of the NCAA, MAAC and Manhattan College Department of Intercollegiate Athletic policies and procedures and will be expected to work cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Must demonstrate the ability to recruit, coach and improve (teach) talented student-athletes. Demonstrate the ability to market and promote Manhattan College men's lacrosse program. Must exhibit leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student athletes and staff. Must be a team player, and have the ability to support and assist other employees. Develop a positive atmosphere for the program both internally and externally within the athletic department and College.
Description of Job Duties:
May include but not limited to: Assist in the management and recruitment of qualified student athletes, game and practice scheduling, budget and fundraising, day to day program administration as well as other duties assigned by the Head Coach. Assist in the support of student-athlete academic success, while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Ability to communicate in a positive manner with student athletes, staff parents, and alumni; strong organizational and planning abilities with excellent oral and written communication skills; a working knowledge of computer programs and systems.
Bachelor's degree, one to three years of men's lacrosse coaching experience preferably at the college level. General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, NCAA policies and compliance issues
