The West Virginia University Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit specifically designed to aid, further, and support the work and purposes of West Virginia University, is seeking a professional to join our fundraising team as the Associate Athletic Director – Major Gifts in the Mountaineer Athletic Club.
The Foundation is engaged in a $1 billion campaign for all parts of West Virginia University – A State of Minds – that will conclude in December 2017.
This position reports directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director/Executive Director of the Mountaineer Athletic Club. This position is responsible for management and leadership of overall major gift program including but not limited to capital projects, planned giving and endowment for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at West Virginia University. In addition, this position will maintain a portfolio of major gift and high-end annual fund prospects as well as manage all major gift officers in tracking and monitoring progress on specific goals and projects.
A Bachelor's degree is required. Master’s degree preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for a Master’s degree. The candidate must have a minimum of five years of progressive development experience. Experience with intercollegiate athletics, particularly Division I experience and direct experience working with and managing capital giving projects and donors is preferred. The candidate must have knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
