Reporting to the Director of Development and joining a talented advancement team during the College's largest comprehensive campaign, the Director of the Crusader Athletics Fund will lead the Crusader Athletics Fund and oversee the development, planning and implementation of major giving strategies to raise money to support Holy Cross Athletics.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the $2M + Crusader Athletics Fund
Establish dollar, donor and percentage goals for the Crusader Athletics Fund
Oversee development, planning and implementation of annual giving strategy
Manage a fundraising, communication and event plan for Holy Cross' 27 varsity sports
Work with coaches to establish dollar goals, communication strategies and identify parent prospects
Supervise the Assistant Director of Crusader Athletics Fund
Lead and manage a leadership gift effort to identify prospects for specific athletic needs (five and six figures)
Work closely with the Director of Development, Leadership Giving, Parent Leadership Giving, Principal and Planned Giving to build and expand the engagement of Holy Cross' vast leadership prospect pool
Identify strategies and opportunities to align prospects with various athletics priorities as a key component of the Campaign
Travel to visit, solicit, and steward a portfolio of current and prospective alumni and parent donors/prospects
Create written strategic action plans for top prospects, leading to increased comprehensive giving including annual, capital, and deferred gifts
Possess a strong understanding of a moves management system for prospects
Attain an annual visit goal of 50 prospects and achieve annual CAF Dollar and donor goals
Partner with and direct the volunteer CAF Executive Committee, planning three meetings per year, communicating frequently with the committee, and engaging the group in CAF efforts
Serve as liaison to Trustee Committee on Athletics for fundraising and CAF updates
Plan cultivation and stewardship events for CAF donors, coordinating with Stewardship & Special events office, Dept. Of Athletics and Assistant Director of the Crusader Athletics Fund
Staff the President, Athletic Director, Trustees or other College/volunteer colleagues as solicitation partners; prepare written briefings for visits as well as follow up documentation and correspondence
Bachelor's Degree required. 7+ years' experience working in higher education administration and/or fundraising. Other related experience will be considered. Experience in athletic setting is preferred. Proven track record in cultivating and soliciting gifts and working with key volunteers to attain goals. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively and successfully with colleagues, prospects/donors, faculty, administrators, and volunteers to achieve common goals. Must be able to multi-task and work under deadline pressure. Must be able to work with and command the confidence of donors, Trustees, volunteers and staff. Willing to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends and/or holidays during peak seasons
