Under the direction of the Athletic Director, the Assistant or Associate Director of Athletics - External Relations is responsible for obtaining Athletic corporate sponsorships, as well as coordinating marketing efforts for each sport. This position actively solicits gifts from new and current members of the Booster Club, as well as seeks innovate ways to market Athletics to increase community participation and ticket sales.
Administer all aspects of the Dixie State University Corporate Sponsorship program, which includes actively soliciting corporate sponsor partnerships with local, regional and national entities and overseeing all fulfillment of corporate sponsorship obligations
Serve as the Director of the Dixie State University Athletic Booster Club (Trailblazer Club) and serve as liaison with the Booster Club Board to coordinate all aspects of the Booster Club
Oversee ticketing functions for the Booster Club member accounts
Coordinate all marketing and promotion efforts for the Athletic Department, which includes developing promotional and new revenue campaigns, increasing overall ticket sales and participation in Athletic events, etc.
Coordinate and supervise all major fundraising campaigns and special projects with the Athletic Director and the DSU Development Office
Develop community outreach programs to maintain positive community and alumni relations with groups on and off-campus
Provide leadership and administrative support to team fundraising activities in the Athletic department
Supervise and oversee several sport programs as assigned by the Athletic Director
Attend University and community functions to help create good will and help promote Dixie State University and its Athletic programs
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field required; Master's degree preferred
At least three years of applicable marketing, fundraising, and/or related experience working in collegiate Athletic administration with progressively greater levels of responsibilities required. Specific experience working in either a Division I or Division II Athletic Department doing fundraising, corporate sponsorship, accounting, event management, marketing, and/or promotions preferred.
Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions while fostering a cooperative work environment, utilizing good leadership skills
Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, etc.); ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events; ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community and represent DSU by exercising good human relation skills in the community and state
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
Ability to work and travel evenings and weekends for various Athletic events as needed
