Upper Iowa University, a Division II institution in beautiful Northeast Iowa, invites applicants for the position of Director of Athletics. Upper Iowa University is Iowa’s only NCAA Division II athletics program consisting of 16 programs and a varsity cheer program. This is a full-time, 12-month position with a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. This position reports to the President and is responsible for the overall operations of the athletics program.
The Director of Athletics will maintain an environment promoting student-athlete academic success, health, welfare, development, recruitment and retention. The Director will also provide leadership of a department that reflects the mission, vision, core values and strategic plan of the University. In addition to leading, developing and mentoring staff members and overseeing the departmental budget, the Director will facilitate revenue generation efforts in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Advancement, Academic Deans, and Department Chairs. The Director will also serve as an institutional representative of the University in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, affiliate sport conferences and NCAA meetings and conferences.
A Master’s degree and five (5) years of experience and demonstrated success in intercollegiate athletic administration is required.
