The Coastal Carolina University Athletic Media Relations Office is seeking a Media Relations Assistant (full-time, temporary position) for the 2017-18 year. This position assists the Media Relations staff in coverage of the University's 19 Division I varsity sports. Position is a 10-month position starting in mid to late August and could be a two year appointment.
This individual will likely be the primary contact for softball, men's and women's track for the spring as well as men's and women's cross country for the fall but could cover other sports that best suits the candidates' skill set. This position will be responsible for media guides, game notes, game programs, web site updates and communicating with the Sun Belt and NCAA offices. The candidate will additionally be responsible for other duties as assigned, work all home football games and provide assistance at home events as needed.
Candidate must be highly motivated and energetic, and be able to manage a demanding work schedule that includes long hours and weekends. Work hours will vary based upon team schedules and seasonal needs. Must be flexible to meet special scheduling needs of the University and home athletics events.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Requirements: A bachelor's degree and a minimum of one (1) year experience in a college or university sports information office as a student assistant or intern are required. Additionally, a successful candidate possess: good writing and editing ability; knowledge of AP style and desktop publishing, preferably InDesign, as well as Photoshop and various web software programs; experience using the various StatCrew statistical programs. Inputting stats during a contest is a must and the person will be required to handle all gameday functions for assigned sports.
