POSITION SUMMARY: Pomona College is looking for an Assistant Athletic Director, Operations and Events to oversee the staffing and operations of events, home game management, and championship hosting. This position provides leadership in planning and designing events, facility maintenance and upgrades, and coordinating with external organizations regarding the use of the facilities. This role works alongside Head Coaches to understand home event needs and preferences, and participates in planning and managing the events and operations budget. The Assistant Athletic Director, Operations and Events reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferably in the areas of sports management/athletic administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 2-3 years of substantial experience with increasing responsibility in an intercollegiate athletic environment, or college/university community, or a combination of related experience in an organization of similar scope as Pomona-Pitzer Athletics is required. A valid driver’s license or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events is required. Ability to handle all activities and highly confidential information with patience, discretion, good judgment, courtesy and tact while working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Strong organizational and time-management skills to complete work with accuracy, dependability and a keen attention to detail.
REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are at least 40 hours per week on a variable schedule. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours will be required. Travel may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
