Financial Aid and Scholarships at Texas State University seeks an experienced manager and financial aid professional to oversee the office’s athletic compliance operations. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Compliance, the Compliance Officer is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of NCAA Bylaw 15 (Financial Aid). This position will apply relevant state, federal and NCAA rules and regulations as well as develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the awarding and adjusting of federal, state, athletic and other financial aid to student athletes—including the review of individual student-athlete and team limits. The Compliance Officer will direct and coordinate financial aid compliance activities with coaches, external compliance officers, and others.
The Compliance Officer will provide counseling to student athletes and their parents regarding federal, state, athletic and other financial aid. This position will work with the Athletics Department staff to ensure effective communication and compliance with respect to the awarding of aid. The Compliance Officer will also keep abreast of all pertinent federal, state and NCAA aid rules and regulations, educate staff accordingly, make recommendations as necessary to maintain compliance with relevant regulatory changes, and direct the development of IT systems as necessary to meet compliance objectives. This position will also develop accurate and timely reports as necessary for auditors, NCAA officials, conference administrators, university administrators, etc.
