The Assistant Director of Athletic Fund Development reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Advancement, Tyee Club, and works closely with the Assistant Director of Fund Development. Working as a key member of the Annual Giving team, this position works to consistently offer high levels of customer service and stewardship to Tyee Club members while continually growing the donor base and raising annual funds for Husky Athletics. This person will interact daily with donors and prospective donors to connect them to Husky Athletics and offer them exciting intercollegiate experiences.
Men’s and Women’s Basketball
Work with the Assistant Athletic Director for Advancement to retain and grow the basketball donor base. Manage all activities related to men’s and women’s basketball seat-related giving: work in collaboration with the Husky Ticket Office on renewal applications, monitor renewals, call delinquent accounts, produce reports, assign seating, and other duties as required.
Provide a direct contact for donors on a day to day basis offering excellent customer service, providing solutions to problems and educating them on Tyee Club policies and the priority point system.
Collaborate with men’s and women’s basketball coaches and operations directors to strategize and manage activities related to men’s and women’s basketball giving programs to generate positive stewardship and increase donor support.
Partner with the Director of Special Events to provide game day hospitality.
Work with the Assistant Athletic Director for Advancement to assist with football renewals and enhanced stewardship efforts for donors in Husky Stadium Premium Seating areas, specifically in the Don James Center. Work with Special Events Director to ensure a great game day experience in all premium seating areas.
Assist with the annual football seat-related contribution renewals.
Olympic Team Support
Work with coaches and volunteers (team support groups) to develop strategies and assist in their efforts to enhance fundraising revenue for many of the other Olympic Sports teams. Help coordinate and implement cultivation and stewardship opportunities for team support groups to achieve annual fundraising goals.
Work closely with and partner when appropriate with Director of Big W Club to strategize and coordinate former athlete outreach efforts to increase alumni engagement and fundraising.
Annual Fund Stewardship
In alignment with the Tyee Club Membership Guide, and together with the Director of Events and Stewardship, work to execute stewardship, benefit fulfillment and event planning as needed to create meaningful engagement with all levels of Tyee Club donors and inspire them to support Husky Athletics at a higher level on an annual basis. Track annual membership level achievements, coordinate donor notification, benefits mailings and event participation. Conduct ongoing analysis of program and report back on overall effectiveness with focus on areas of success and ongoing enhancements.
Work closely with other departments within Husky Athletics including the Husky Ticket Office, Outside Sales Team, Marketing, Media Relations, Facilities and Special Events to enhance donor seat sales and contributions.
As assigned, work with other internal and external groups under the Tyee Club umbrella which may include groups such as the Tyee Sports Council, Young Tyee Club and the Tyee Club intern staff.
This position will be knowledgeable and able to operate daily in various donor databases. Programs used regularly include Paciolan (Ticketing) Advantage (Donor) and Advance (UW Advancement.)
Perform related duties as required.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required plus three years of advancement/development experience. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with event seating and working with volunteers and donors is preferred. A strong background in marketing or sales is desirable. Experience working in a collegiate athletics environment and knowledge of University of Washington Athletics and Puget Sound region preferred.
