The Tiger Athletic Foundation is currently seeking applicants for 2 openings: Director of Development and Development Officer. The Development staff is chiefly responsible for identifying, qualifying, & soliciting major gift prospects for the Tiger Athletic Foundation in support of LSU Athletics. The Director of Development is a more seasoned fundraiser with added responsibilities of coaching up other fundraisers.
This position is an exempt position that will offer full time benefits such as paid health insurance and 401 K offered in conjunction with this position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The Development staff is chiefly responsible for identifying, qualifying, & soliciting major gift prospects for the Tiger Athletic Foundation in support of LSU Athletics. This position must be in contact with TAF and Athletic Department and University employees, guests, visitors, donors, and stakeholders, and its occupant must demonstrate a commitment to respectful cooperation with all stakeholders in the Campus environment. Specific responsibilities include:
Identify, qualify, solicit and steward major gift prospects for the Tiger Athletic Foundation in support of LSU Athletics.
Make an assigned number of personal visits and work toward defined annual goals to include number of asks and dollars raised.
Actively manage a portfolio of prospects with the goal of increasing philanthropic support for Athletics.
Coordination with University personnel, Athletic Department personnel, other TAF personnel, guests, donors, and invitees of sports and other major events held in the premium seating spaces.
Understanding of and commitment to goals, values, and mission of TAF.

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Master’s degree preferred), plus relevant work experience in industries or fields.
Oral and written communication skills necessary.
Utilization of excellent interpersonal skills to provide quality customer service, and to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders and clients, including donors, guests, and persons associated with the University community and the Athletic Department.
Position travels extensively for the purpose of visiting & soliciting prospects and donors throughout the southeast.
Knowledge of compliance with NCAA and SEC rules and regulations is required.
Administration of and oversight of financial planning, budgeting, cost analysis, and recordkeeping, via electronic and other methods of communication, to ensure cost-effectiveness in all presentations, shows, and events.
Attendance at sports and donor related functions.
Customer service orientation consistent with TAF mission, values, and core principles.
The generous support of the membership of Tiger Athletic Foundation has played a vital role in the success of the storied LSU Athletic program. TAF provides resources to hundreds of student-athletes to achieve their educational goals and to compete in the athletic arena at the highest level.
That generosity has also been the impetus behind improvements and construction of athletic facilities th...at rank among the very best. TAF is responsible for over $260 million of improvements to college football’s most revered venue, Tiger Stadium, including construction of additions to the east and west sides and the south end zone. Included in these projects were the construction of 142 Tiger Den Suites and over 6,500 club seats.
Over the years, TAF has also funded the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student Athletes, the University Club Golf Course, Mike the Tiger’s Habitat, the Football Operations Center, and the suites in Alex Box Stadium, collegiate baseball’s premier facility.
Currently, TAF is funding the construction of the new Gymnastics Practice Facility and the new Tennis Indoor and Outdoor facilities. Future projects include the Nutrition Center and renovations to the Football Operations Building.
TAF is also proud of the role it has played in helping to attract and retain the outstanding coaching staffs that lead our athletic programs.
