The Deputy Athletic Director for ULAA ensures long-term operational stability and financial sustainability of the department. The position has direct oversight of operations, capital projects funding, facilities and game operations management. Position serves as member of Athletic Director’s Senior Staff.
Chief Operations Officer
Serve as Chief Operations Officer for ULAA
Ensure stability and sustainability of $105 million departmental budget in compliance with University policy and procedures, ACC and NCAA regulations and state and federal law
Advise Athletic Director on all operational-related issues
Serve as chief representative for Athletics concerning external and internal audits
Oversee Business Manager responsible for all day-to-day athletic business office operations
Facilities & Capital Construction
Oversee Stadium Manager who manages Capital construction and facility operations for Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium; manage all capital construction projects, with particular budgetary focus
Oversee Assistant Athletic Director for Operations and Facilities who oversees facilities and game operations
Oversee Assistant AD for Varsity Sports
Oversee General Manager of the University of Louisville Golf Club; review and monitor budget, membership and management of Club
Assist in contract negotiations with athletic department partners (e.g., Adidas, Centerplate, Learfield, etc.) and procurement documents and procedures
Assist in preparation of head coach and assistant coach contracts; advise on compensation/incentive packages
Execute game contracts
Oversee facility rental and lease agreements, license fees, facility fees and marketing sponsorships ensuring compliance and audit recommendations.
Review reports from sponsorships, concessions and assets from facilities
Serve as sport administratortoMen’s Basketball and Football;
Oversee operating budget, scheduling, Head Coach and coaching staff members to ensure achievement of programmatic goals.
Serve as the athletic department liaison for post-season participation in bowl and NCAA events.
Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field
Five (5) years of progressively responsible senior financial management and supervisory experience
Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of coaches, staff and students
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively
Advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field
Experience working in collegiate or professional sports industry
