Assistant Director of Academic Support is responsible for providing guidance in registration, counseling, mentoring, and tutorial services, and assisting in the monitoring of eligibility records for student-athletes. Serve as academic advisor to the Student Athletes in specific sports as assigned. Work with the various sports with recruiting of prospective student-athletes as needed.
Four years' experience in sports administration/coaching, academic advising, related student services or education.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills and professionalism in dealing with external business partners, coaches, administrators, student-athletes, parents, faculty and staff.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.
Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions and meet deadlines.
Ability to read, interpret, instruct, and effectively communicate complex rules and regulations.
Ability to analyze, interpret, communicate, and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Personal computer skills including related database, word processing and spreadsheet software.
