Hours: 5 days / 35 hours per week plus overtime; nights and weekends as needed
Required: Bachelor’s Degree; Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); Intermediate analytical skills and oral/written communication; Experience in event and project management, minimum of 1 – 3 years. Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment balancing multiple tasks and projects.
Preferred: Master’s Degree; prior work experience in fundraising or development; career interest in development or athletics administration
Oversee all facets of event planning and management for the Athletics development office, including the BU Athletics Leaders Celebration, BU Alumni Weekend, Head of the Charles, Parents Weekend, Friendship Four: Festival of Hockey, Beanpot & Friends of Hockey events, all sport-specific alumni game/day activities and receptions around select home and away games (50%)
Manage various Athletics stewardship initiatives, including the endowed scholarship program, acknowledgment outreach, donor recognition, and more. Responsibilities include working with the scholarship student-athletes, head coaches and donors (25%)
Support the Director of Development & Associate Director of Development for Athletics in the day-to-day operations of the office including growing the Annual Fund for Athletics; specifically assisting with the strategy for Giving Day 2019 including leading the Student-Athlete and Staff Giving Campaign, developing a strategy to engage Young Alumni and sport-specific alumni councils as well as assisting with the annual appeal process (15%)
Responsible for managing communications from Athletics development, including the AD newsletter, student-athlete blogs, various sport-specific pieces and the Terrier Athletics Fund social media platforms (5%)
Provide some oversight of Athletics development coordinator and student workers (5%)
