The University at Albany, a NCAA Division I Institution, member of the CAA and America East Conference is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time position in the area of Athletic Ticket Sales & Group Sales. The Assistant Director of Athletic Ticketing and Group Sales will play an integral role with the sale of season, group and individual game tickets for football, men's soccer, men's and women's basketball, and men's lacrosse. The Assistant Director of Athletic Ticket Sales & Group Sales position will be providing high level customer service to the guests, fans, and attendees of all events hosted in UAlbany Athletic facilities. They will assist the Department of Athletics with the administrative management necessary for the successful operation of a Division I athletics program with a focus in revenue and game attendance enhancement.
Responsibilities include strong working knowledge of NCAA, America East and CAA Conference, University and departmental rules and regulations. This position will report to the Assistant AD for Ticket Sales and Strategy. A primary responsibility for the position will be implementing a group ticketing strategic plan to actively sell group tickets. Developing and maintaining group contact databases will be vital to increasing attendance at all ticketed events. Maintaining and growing relationships with existing/new customers will also be expected. On top of group sales, this position must be able to handle daily operations of the Ticket Office and serve as the other point of contact for all customers. With the high demand of requests, this position must be able to handle requests coming in through a variety of different forms. This position will assist with all game day box office procedures for all ticketed events that are sanctioned by the Athletic Department.
Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Dept. of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
Previous experience working in a ticket office
Previous experience making/fulfilling group sales
Must possess exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate with individuals from various constituents within Athletics and the University as well as the wider community audience
Must be a data driven individual who is knowledgeable in utilization of information to identify and target ticket sales and marketing of athletic entertainment
Must be able to work in a team environment
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other Office products as well as Neulion ticket program is preferred.
A demonstrated ability working with culturally diverse groups of people is required.
