The Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Department (PERA) is seeking an individual with experience working within a community of diverse students and colleagues. Successful candidates will by their administrative, coaching, leadership and service demonstrate they can contribute to the diversity and excellence of athletics, the department and our community.
Responsibilities: Assist the Director of Sports Performance and Fitness with the management of the strength and conditioning programs for 13 varsity athletic teams. Assist the Director with all aspects of the day-to-day operations, supervision of student interns, and safety of the strength & conditioning facility spaces. Design and implement progressive, periodized, sport-specific strength and conditioning programs for varsity teams. Educate, supervise, and demonstrate proper form and technique for student-athletes and provide appropriate modifications when necessary. Execute performance testing and evaluation procedures.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: ? Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). ? Ability to work with diverse populations, as part of a team, and collaborate with others. ? Demonstrated ability to work independently, to maintain confidentiality. ? Ability and desire to meet the irregular hours required by the position.
Start date is August 13, 2018. This is a full time, nine-month position with benefits.
Bachelor’s Required, Master’s Preferred and 1-3 years of total work related experience, NSCA-CSCS certification, CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications Required. A full background check is required and includes that the candidate has a valid driver’s license and receives clearance to drive College vehicles.
