The Graduate Assistant for Creative Services will work within the athletic communications department, under the supervision of the Assistant AD for Creative Services & Digital Media, and will be responsible for assisting with the creative development of all print, digital and video materials.
Responsibilities include, assisting with:
Design and layout a wide variety of print materials, such as newspaper and game day magazine advertisements, flyers, brochures, posters, postcards, direct mail pieces, invitations and media guides.
Design of print, digital, and social media assets
Organizing and managing photography archives;
Developing and creating digital content for social media and St. John’s Athletics Insider: The Official E-mail of St. John’s Athletics
Designing and creating graphic content for SJU-TV and video board presentations at Carnesecca Arena and Madison Square Garden, which includes motion graphics, GIFs and statistics templates.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sports management, graphic design, or a related field preferred. Relevant undergraduate experience in the field of professional or collegiate athletics required.
Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suites (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
Demonstrated social media proficiency
Must have knowledge and interest in Division I intercollegiate athletics
Must be willing to work some evenings, weekends and holiday hours when required for events. Candidate must be well organized and able to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and achieve targeted goals.
Additional Salary Information: •$4,000 stipend in year-1 ($4,500 in year-2)
•Graduate school tuition remission (2 year position, 2018-20)
•Most GAs choose an MBA in Marketing or Sport Management major track.
•Per diem game-day positions available.
