Keene State College is seeking a creative, results-oriented self-starter for an Assistant to the Athletic Director/Student Athlete Development Coordinator position in our Athletics Department. This is a 10-month, two year appointment with a $27,360 annual salary with appointment dates from August to May. This position is partially funded through the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant.
The intern will work directly with the Athletic Director in performing professional and administrative services essential for the implementation and operations of running a successful collegiate athletic department. This intern will also focus on high impact practices that positively influence the retention and personal development of student-athletes from matriculation to graduation.
Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university; experience in an athletic department environment; proficiency with social media platforms; demonstrated ability to: perform accurate, detail-oriented work, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities; proven success pitching and seeing ideas through completion; ability to work independently and in group settings with a positive demeanor. To meet the grant requirements, the incumbent must identify as an ethnic minority and/or woman. For the purposes of the grant, racial ethnic minorities are described pursuant to the federal guidelines of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The incumbent must be available to travel to Indianapolis July 26-27, 2018 for NCAA orientation and attend the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar during the first year.
Additional Desirable Qualifications: Proven skills and success in advising, tutoring, curriculum advising, and/or program development. Knowledge of and interest in collegiate athletics.
Additional Salary Information: An additional $3000 will be provided by the NCAA for the intern to attend the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar during the first year and other professional development opportunities.
