Job Function: The Associate Director of Athletics reports to the Director of Athletics. The primary task is to assist the Director of Athletics in the overall organization and administration of the intercollegiate athletics program, club sports and recreation in concert with the mission of the University.
Major Responsibilities: Serve as the Compliance officer (40%) Provide oversight of game management & event operations (including serving as tournament director for conference and NCAA playoffs), equipment room, sports medicine, club sports and Recreation (20%) Supervise & assess designated sport programs (15%) Serve as the Senior Women’s Administrator, if appropriate (15%) Manage all day-to-day operations in accordance with the Director of Athletics (10%)
Specific Responsibilities: Provide leadership for an atmosphere of professionalism and respect among coaches, staff and student-athletes. Promote a competitive athletic atmosphere consistent with the NCAADIII philosophy. Ensure that all department members have full knowledge of and abide by the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA and the conference. Serve as the department’s liaison to the Center for Academic Achievement Serve as the department’s liaison with Events Management Assist in Admissions events on behalf of the department Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets In the absence of the director, the associate director will serve in that capacity Serve on University, conference and NCAA committees, as appropriate. Assist in identifying and nominating student-athletes for external programs and internship opportunities Serve in areas of importance for the Department as directed by the Director of Athletics Represent the university to various constituents in a professional manner. Perform other duties as assigned.

Contact with Others: Daily contact with students, staff and faculty. Occasional contact with prospective students and parents, external users of athletics facilities, as well as coaches and administrators from other colleges
Masters Degree required. Minimum of three years of experience in athletics administration at the college level, and college coaching experience preferred. Must be familiar with NCAA regulations and have a demonstrated commitment to the student-athlete experience. Evidence of positive attitude and the ability to get along well with others required. Excellent speaking and writing skills necessary, as well as the ability to be a well-organized self-starter. Evening and weekend obligations will be required.
