Description: Auburn University Athletics is currently seeking candidates for a Development Officer. Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletics Director - Major Gifts, the Development Officer is responsible for supporting the Auburn Athletics Department and Tigers Unlimited Foundation programs and outreach efforts to build philanthropic relationships between alumni, individuals, organizations and the Auburn Community.
A successful candidate will play an integral role in securing private resources to support the department's mission and strategic direction. In addition to cultivating donor prospects, the Development Officer is directly responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with donors, and key stakeholders, and must possess the ability to carry out key initiatives in the fundraising plan by identifying and advancing potential gift opportunities, and working with key individuals to align donor interests with facility and organizational priorities. The development officer position seeks self-motivated individuals who possess ability to work collaboratively across diverse groups, with unwavering commitment to customer service, and demonstrated experience in contributing to the growth of the organization.
The Auburn Tigers compete at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics as a charter member of the Southeastern Conference. Auburn fields 19 varsity teams with approximately 500 student-athletes supported by more than 225 full-time staff on the campus of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution, plus 2 years experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, and/or public relations. Must have a valid Driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
