The USC Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) Program is committed to providing the necessary support to assist all student-athletes in reaching their full potential academically, personally, and professionally. Our program includes academic advising, career development, community service, tutorial programs, and learning specialists, which are all aimed at promoting a philosophy of individual responsibility so as to encourage each student-athlete to value their educational experience.
SAAS is seeking an academic advisor who has experience in at-risk advising to assist with course and major selection and monitoring of academic progress in compliance with NCAA and USC standards. This position will also have other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Athlete Academic Services.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Monitor academic progress of student-athletes and maintain accurate and up-to-date academic records.
Meet weekly with at-risk students on your assigned teams.
Collaborate with Learning Specialists on individualized support plans for students.
Communicate concerns consistently and in a timely manner with direct supervisor, coaches and sport administrators.
Teach Freshman Transition Course.
Monitor one night of Study Hall per week.
Adhere to all USC, NCAA and PAC-12 policies and regulations.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Academic Advising and or the Director of SAAS.
