Position Description: Directs and has primary responsibility for a variety of support services for student athletes. Oversees delivery of support services including academic advising, life skills enrichment, personal counseling, sports medicine and strength and conditioning programs. As part of the department senior leadership team, participates in strategic planning, policy and procedures development. Assesses program effectiveness and adherence to NCAA, Horizon League, and University policies and regulations. Institutes changes for improvement. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and five years progressively responsible experience in athletics administration, with focus on provision of student athlete support services. Excellent working knowledge of NCAA policies, procedures and legislation. Demonstrated ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. Effective oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of budgeting. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Ability to travel off-campus.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in provision of academic and student affairs support services for student athletes. Experience in sport supervision.
