The Student-Athlete Center for Academic Excellence at Florida Atlantic University announces an opening for an assistant director.
The Assistant Director, Academic Programs will Coordinate and implement all academic support and enhancement activities for designated teams.
Additional duties and responsibilities:
Supervise personnel AMP/Interns, awards and honors, study hall, and class checking program.
Work collaboratively with the Registrar's Office and Compliance Office on NCAA certification processes for student-athletes.
Work effectively with coaches to promote a healthy balance between students' academic and athletic endeavors. Work with academic advisors and administrators from all colleges to ensure students receive appropriate guidance regarding course selection and plans of study.
Meet with prospective student-athletes and their parents to promote the educational opportunities available at Florida Atlantic University.

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of NCAA D1 athletic Academic advising experience required.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required.
Experience in college level advising and working with a learning specialist and tutor coordinator preferred.
Experience working with at-risk populations, football or men's basketball preferred.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and sensitive to a diversified student-athlete population and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
