Assist in implementation of programs for fund-raising for Mississippi State Athletics, to generate private contributions in support of the efforts of its student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.
Ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations regarding outside interest groups, to include informing alumni and "booster" groups about applicable rules that could affect the operation of the intercollegiate athletics program.
Identify, cultivate, and solicit individual prospects in coordination with faculty, staff and volunteers through the proper clearance process.
Perform needs analysis with the Executive Director of Development, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development, and athletic staff on a continual basis to establish development objectives.
Maintain an approved list of promising major gift prospects.
Coordinate fundraising projects and assist in planning and directing special events for major gift donors and prospects.
Coordinate with the MSU Foundation and follow university policy regarding major gift solicitation.
Provide weekly contact reports to the Executive Director of Development of the MSU Foundation.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development and Executive Director of Development.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Relations or related field--no substitution allowed; five (5) years of experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with university officials, faculty, prominent alumni and friends of Business, i.e., multiple and varied constituencies; basic computer skills; ability to meet significant travel requirements of position.
