The Intercollegiate Athletics department at Barry University is currently accepting applications for a Sport Performance Coordinator. This is a full time position located at the Main Campus.
This position is responsible for developing and implementing sports performance programs for Barry's 12 intercollegiate athletic teams that includes developing sport-specific conditioning programs, performance analysis/sport science data, injury prevention/ rehabilitation programs and nutrition.
Develop and implement high-level strength and conditioning programs to meet the individual needs of Barry’s 12 athletic teams that are scientifically-based, involve periodized regimen of exercises and drills to enhance power, strength, agility, speed and flexibility to improve performance and decrease injury potential.
Supervise the strength and conditioning facility and one graduate assistant, as well as oversee the daily operations of the facility (cleaning, equipment storage and replacement).
Coordinate the scheduling of team workouts.
Ability to communicate and work in partnership with administration, coaching staff, and athletic training staff to provide an integrated program of injury prevention, rehabilitation, performance training and nutritional planning.
Maintaining compliance with NCAA, SSC, and Barry University rules and regulationswhile teaching proper and safe weight lifting techniques and motivating student-athletes to reach their potential.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
A Master's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or a related field is required.
Must have and maintain First Aid and CPR/AED certifications; if not currently certified, mustobtain certification prior to working with student-athletes.
Must be a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Additional certifications recommended [i.e., FMS, PES, CES, USA weight lifting, etc.
Minimum of five full-time years of experience at collegiate setting or professional.
Expert applied experience of various movement screening and correct exercises is preferred.
Must possess strong communication skills
Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Must have a valid driver's license.
