Under general supervision, the Multimedia and Video Coordinator works independently to support Cal Poly Athletics’ mission and scope in the areas of marketing and branding, print and electronic publications, video production, special projects/events, and media relations. The Multimedia and Video Coordinator assists management with marketing content and branding for internal and external communications.
Additionally, this position will focus on the video aspects of marketing and will be responsible for producing or acquiring video content for GoPoly.com, official social media platforms, video board content for assigned programs, and local news outlets; loading creative content to website and social media outlets; assisting in the content creation for courtside tables in Mott Athletic Center; managing video on GoPoly.com; and supervising interns that will be assigned to assist with video content creation.
The incumbent must have thorough knowledge of the program and applicable communications techniques, be able to work fairly autonomously, and exercise sound judgement and discretion in the completion of assignments and projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage electronic content for traditional and new media platforms
Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Fan Experience to manage and produce projects
Develop and maintain digital communications archives for the athletic department
Participate in weekly content development meetings with Marketing & Fan Experience, Communications and New Media departments
Product pump-up/hype videos, game highlight packages, recruiting content, commercials and other video components for in-venue video boards, social media, GoPoly.com and television
Work with teams and programs to tell the story of the Cal Poly student-athletes through narratives, features and in-depth interviews
Assist with the creation and execution of overall multimedia and video production strategy across all aspects of the athletics department
Responsible for supervision of all operational and in-game production for all streamed sports
Oversight of video board production and implementation of on-demand content
Responsible for training of staff and camera operators
Assist in training and lead work director of video production interns
Other duties as assigned
Experience within collegiate or professional athletics
Experience producing marketing videos including knowledge of digital video camera operation, encoding software and hardware
Experience in video production including planning, lighting, framing audio acquisition, editing, encoding and other elements
Knowledge of mixing and editing video and audio for broadcast output
Substantial experience working in non-linear video editing (AVID Media Composer or Final Cut Pro)
Knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, etc.)
Experience working with digital archives and archival processes
