Serves as the Academic Coordinator for assigned student-athletes by providing academic support services. Provides academic support to assigned teams. Provides support to learning specialists in administering academic plans. Performs other duties as assigned.
Provides academic support to assigned student-athletes. Holds regularly scheduled meetings with all 1st-year and EEE student-athletes. Discusses planning and organizing class material, note-taking, time management strategies, and tracks completed assignments and test results. Ensures student-athletes understand and develop a graduation plan. Monitors class attendance, tutor and mentor use, and independent students enrolled in EEE. Serves as a liaison for coaches, providing regular updates on student-athlete academic performance. Assists all incoming assigned student-athletes with transition and acclimation to the University through Orientation, preregistration, etc.
25% - Essential - Academic Support for Assigned Teams:
Provides academic support to assigned teams. Ensures new students successfully transition to the University and academic community. Serves as a resource about academic program with prospects, their parents, student-athletes, coaches, and administrators. Ensures squad list, eligibility checklist addendum, and APR projections are accurate. Demonstrates expertise with NCAA eligibility rules, curriculum requirements and ensures all team member's schedules reflect graduation planning. Travels to team competitions. Provides information to coaches and recruits on official and unofficial visits.
25% - Essential - Academic Integrity & Data Management:
Assists in overall operations of Student-Athlete Academic Support. Supports the highest ideals of academic integrity with teams, coaches, and institutional personnel. Manages building and EEE during evening hours. Evaluates tutors and mentors and reviews tutor notes on a daily basis. Provides data for the Provost Report. Assists with the honor and awards process. Provides support to immersion and other committees as assigned.
15% - Essential - Learning Specialist Support:
Provides support to learning specialists to administer academic plans. Works with learning specialists to schedule meetings. Assists in the administration of inventories to gather academic data. Discusses student progress with learning specialists on a regular basis to understand academic development towards each student's semester goals. Ensures all students in the ROAR program are utilizing their time with the learning specialists by emphasizing with students the importance of academic planning toward academic achievement.
5% - Essential - Other Duties as Assigned:
Supports the department in all programming
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education: Master's Degree
Minimum Work Experience: 3+ years, Division 1 experience in athletic academic support, specifically as an academic advisor
