The ASUN Conference is accepting applications for an Assistant Commissioner for Championships. This full-time position will begin no later than July 1, 2018. Salary is commensurate with experience.

The ASUN Conference is an NCAA Division I conference with eight member institutions: Florida Gulf Coast University, Jacksonville University, Kennesaw State University, Lipscomb University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, University of North Florida, University of South Carolina Upstate and Stetson University; the University of North Alabama will join effective July 1, 2018.
The Assistant Commissioner for Championships will have direct supervision of one full-time Director-level employee. The Assistant Commissioner’s primary duties include the overall administration of ASUN Championships, including, but not limited to:
Overseeing the maintenance of the ASUN Championship Calendar, including dates for conference calls, distribution and due dates for all forms, surveys and evaluations, dates to order and receive championship apparel, awards, signage and any other sport-specific championship items
Oversee the ASUN Championship host bid process
Oversee the preparation and execution of all ASUN Championship host agreements
Oversee the compilation and distribution of standardized ASUN Championship Handbooks
Manage the solicitation, preparation and distribution of ASUN Championship credentials (media, participant, official, etc.)
Oversee the ordering and quality control of ASUN Awards and gifts
Manage ASUN promotional inventory, signage, and apparel
Provide onsite championship support as assigned
Serve as primary staff liaison to the ASUN Sports Policy Committee
Serve as primary sport administrator as assigned
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree in Sport Management or related field is preferred
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in event management or sport administration required; five (5) years preferred
Demonstrated expertise in written and oral communication and problem solving
Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work on tight deadlines
Must be goal- and task-oriented and possess excellent organizational skills
Familiarity with the Google Platform desirable
Ability to think innovatively in regards to process and/or event improvement
