General Description/Primary Purpose: Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position is responsible for the successful execution in planning, developing and administering all aspects of the athletic department creative and digital media strategy including: the staffing and production of radio and web streamed broadcasts, the staffing and production of in-house videoboard displays, digital social media strategy, and creative development of mobile and video content for all avenues of communications. This position will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining dynamic content that strategically enhances the Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics brand in all external communications.
Description of Duties and Tasks: 1. Provide oversight and lead execution of all digital content across lrbears.com and social media platforms by guiding his/her team to ideate, create, design, and execute content and strategy. 2. Develop creative content that enhances revenue streams through fan engagement, brand awareness, advertising, and public relations strategies in collaboration with the marketing department. 3. Manage creative development and deployment of digital, social, mobile and video content for communications and branding initiatives surrounding LR Athletic teams and events. This content will include but not be limited to hype videos, highlight videos, interviews, and specialty segments. 4. Supervise the Social Media Coordinator - including training, mentoring, evaluating performance and handling performance. 5. Supervise and run game day video production for radio, web stream, and in-house videoboards. 6. Responsible for tracking and applying social media analytics to ensure quality and plan strategies. 7. Responsible for working closely with Athletics Marketing and Game Operations staff to ensure a coordinated and strategic effort to increase the overall athletic department brand and fan engagement. 8. Develop partnerships across campus with the communications department, student groups, and faculty to increase campus engagement as well as student internship and staffing opportunities. 9. Oversee a staff of graduate assistants and student interns to develop the overall media strategy and create a foundation of success across all sports. 10. Will serve on the athletic department’s senior staff reporting directly to and working closely with the Director of Athletics. 11. May assist with sports communications coverage depending on department needs and experience. 12. Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Bachelor’s Degree Required - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Specialized knowledge of sound equipment - Proficient knowledge of a production truck for web-streaming - Proficient with TriCaster for video production at football - Excels in Video Editing Software such as Final Cut Studio and Adobe Premier Pro CC - Experience working in a collegiate or professional sports digital media department preferred -Experience with Adobe Creative Suite - Ability to work nights and weekends
