The Assistant Athletic Director will assist in leading a successful NCAA Division II athletic program at Regis University by serving as a member of the senior staff leadership team that is committed to excellence, integrity and advancing the Department’s mission and strategic vision. The position is responsible for strategic direction, oversight, coordination, leadership and active participation in revenue generating by ensuring high quality professional events. The position will report to the Associate Director of Athletics Advancement.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Game Day Administration:
Recruit, train, hire, schedule and supervise work-study students (i.e. staffing for home contests and special events).
Supervise concession and ticket operations for all home contest and special events, order and inventory supplies, produce and track ticket sales for events, and produce game scripts for all home athletic events adhering to sponsorship contracts, detailing in-game promotions and other essential information for guests.
Serve as the lead event manager for home athletic contest per year. Including crowd control, liaison to coaches and officials, manage work studies, concessions and ticket sales. Responsible for developing game operations policies and procedures manuals (i.e. visiting team guides, etc.) for all athletic teams sponsored by the department.
Assist in the planning and implementation of annual department events such as: Legacy Weekend, Father Shelton Golf Tournament, Hall of Fame, Iggy fest, Block Party, Junior Breakfast, Senior Breakfast, Ranger Rally, Midnight Madness, Community Clean Up, Student-Athlete Banquet and Donor Nights.
Responsible for oversight of all regular season, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and NCAA tournaments hosted by the athletics department. Submit bids to these and other opportunities when applicable.
Marketing and Promotions:
Work with local businesses to secure corporate sponsorships and assist with fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.
Promote and oversee promotion of upcoming on-campus athletic events (i.e. RUSGA and Student Activities through student awards app) and day of game promotions.
Ensure the correct usage of the athletics brand platform with coaches and campus community including approval of logos, apparel and miscellaneous items.
Manage the distribution of all promotional items through apparel contracts.
Promote the Brand of the Athletic Department and Regis University: Shall continually strive to enhance the image of the Regis University Athletics Department and its programs through in-game conduct, interpersonal contacts with parents, visitors, University faculty/staff and community citizens. Additionally, the Assistant Athletic Director shall participate in Athletic Department and University sponsored events and initiatives.
Fundraise for the Athletic Department:
Required to fully participate in department fundraising activities, fundraising events, university campaigns and special project campaigns.
Create an Atmosphere of Compliance: Know, recognize and comply with the laws, policies, rules and regulations governing of the NCAA, the RMAC and the Regis Athletic Department. Supervise and ensure that any assistants and any other employees and/or volunteers for whom you are administratively responsible comply with the aforesaid policies, rules and regulations. Immediately advise the Regis compliance director if you have reasonable cause to believe violations, whether by employees or students, have occurred or will occur.
