The University of Alabama is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Director, Annual Giving Athletics.
The Director, Annual Giving Athletics generates charitable support for the Crimson Tide Foundation’s annual fund, the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund. Responsibilities include creating, administering, and tracking programs that generate annual fund income. Duties may include but aren’t limited to: annual fund operational duties of coordinating direct mail and e-mail renewals and acquisition projects; develop new and innovative ways to retain and attract new annual fund donors; data retrieval; preparing reports; analyzing annual giving trends and solicitation success; developing and implementing annual fund marketing strategy; preparing and making presentations; making face-to-face visits and/or phone calls with annual fund donors or prospects; manage outbound calling program; and special projects as assigned.
Some overnight travel and after hours work may be required.
Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least three years of experience in fundraising, marketing, sales or public relations.
Knowledge in the areas of annual fund and fundraising. Prefer experience in Intercollegiate Athletics, Higher Education or not-for-profit organization. Prefer degree in Business Administration, Sports Administration, Marketing, Management or related field. Experience in management, athletic administration, sales or relevant area is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and public relations skills as well as strong planning and organization skills and creativity are preferred. Ability to establish priorities. Basic knowledge of the usage of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management programs.
