Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of Assistant Athletic Director, Finance. The successful applicant will become part of our team as we build a Metropolitan Research University of Distinction. The individual in this position will be responsible for assisting in administering, organizing, and supervising the financial and accounting systems for the budget and reporting functions of the Athletic Department. Regulations include University, internal and external auditor, NCAA, State and Federal laws and policies. Any violation of a conference or NCAA regulation, as well as those policies of the University, could cause dismissal of a participant or staff member, as well as, create negative publicity and/or conference or NCAA standings to the program and institution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the department’s budget.
Prepare, coordinate and execute quarterly budget reviews with budget directors.
Prepare schedules to manage and forecast budget to actual financials.
Ensure business operation compliance for contract processes.
Provide system integration/process improvement in relation to the financial systems, ticketing system, point-of-sale system, video-editing system, and others as assigned.
Ensure Athletic Department complies with all financial reporting requirements of the University and other related agencies.
Oversee Business Office Staff members in completing budget and reporting functions to include data input, data analysis and data management for report preparation.
Develop department procedures to function within the new Finance software environment within campus.
Be responsible for maintaining NCAA, Mountain West Conference and Boise State rules Compliance.
This position will infrequently be required to work nights and weekends, as well as, overnight travel when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications (Including Certificates and Licenses):
Five (5) years of experience in similar type of work
One (1) year of managerial experience
Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations regarding compliance issues
Demonstrated experience in the following areas:
Accounting procedures and practices
Preparing, analyzing, and interpreting account reconciliations and schedules
Financial analysis and budget management
Cash management and reconciliations
Proficient in multi-level spreadsheet development and manipulation using Microsoft Excel
Experience in use and analysis of accounting software and applications
An outstanding work ethic, effective organizational skills, and computer skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working at the collegiate level
Experience with large scale financial system applications (i.e. PeopleSoft)
Experience in extracting data from ERP system (queries)
