Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President for University Advancement, with a dotted line to the Athletic Director, the Associate Athletic Director for Development will be responsible for all aspects of annual and major gift fundraising for the CWU Athletic Department.
The incumbent, working with university advancement and athletic staff, designs and implements strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, close and steward gifts from alumni, parents and friends of the university.
In addition to being a part of the University Advancement development team, the Associate AD also serves on the Athletic Director’s executive leadership team and may serve as lead for one or more sports as determined to be feasible/appropriate by the Athletic Director and the Associate VP for University Advancement.

Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of direct fundraising experience including, annual and major gift fundraising for athletics.
Strong communication skills: written, oral and active listening.
Demonstrated ability to build long term relationships with a variety of constituent groups.
Demonstrated appreciation and understanding for the fund-raising cycle: identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition and stewardship – and an ability to actively leverage these components within a comprehensive fundraising program.
Experience with relationship management processes including donor/prospect tracking, pipeline development and moves management.
Experience working with and managing volunteers and volunteer leadership boards.
OR equivalent combination of a bachelor’s degree and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of this position.
Master’s degree in related field.
Sports management experience
Experience working with Raiser’s Edge or other customer relationship management software
