Duke Athletics is seeking a qualified individual for the Executive Director of Compliance position. This position reports to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics/Compliance and is responsible for education, monitoring, and enforcement of all ACC and NCAA rules, including but not limited to rules related to amateurism, recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, awards and extra benefits, and playing and practice seasons.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
Proven effective management of multiple related areas
Proficient with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Demonstrated sound organizational, coordinating and personal interface skills
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with the public, other employees and donors.
Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays
Manage day-to-day NCAA rules educational and monitoring efforts, with direct supervision of the Compliance Coordinator and Compliance Assistant.
Provide rules interpretations to coaches, staff, student-athletes, and others as warranted.
In association with the Senior Associate AD for Compliance, serve as liaison to FAR on issues related to proposed ACC and NCAA legislation.
Investigate potential violations; draft violation reports and reinstatement requests as warranted.
Draft eligibility and SLR waivers and appeals.
Primary responsibility for initial and continuing eligibility certification process, including coordination with University Registrar and academic support staff.
