The Director of Development/Assistant AD, Athletics, is responsible for raising money and directing assigned fundraising activities for the benefit of the UC Department of Athletics. Activities of the Director will be coordinated with other Athletics and UCF fundraising activities.
Build, qualify and manage a portfolio of assigned donors and prospects; devise and execute strategies for prospect discovery, cultivation and solicitation; focus will be on leadership/major gifts (acquisition and upgrades) and special gifts; development efforts will be conducted in collaboration with development staff.
Conduct personal visits with Athletics prospects and donors within and outside the Cincinnati region in conjunction with the UCF development program.
Support, implement and maintain good donor stewardship activities in collaboration with UCF Office of Philanthropic Stewardship, Development Coordinator and Leadership Gifts staff.
Utilize UCF and Athletic resources to focus and prioritize efforts for prospect discovery and expanding leadership giving.
Maintain quality donor files, including timely submission of contact reports in the Foundation’s database.
Other duties, as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of fundraising experience, or advanced degree with 3-5 years of experience.
Experience in college athletics preferred.
Record of successful gift solicitation and closure.
Experience in directing or participating in a comprehensive fundraising campaign.
Ability to effectively build and sustain good collaborative relationships with donors, colleagues, volunteers and other constituencies in a professional manner.
Willingness to travel and attend evening and weekend activities as needed. Valid driver’s license required for travel.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, including setting priorities and meeting deadlines, managing details accurately, and following through in a timely manner.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, e-mail and web-related activities, and database management.

Additional Salary Information: Competitive base salary with yearly bonus opportunity. Relocation compensation is negotiable.
