Position Summary and Responsibilities Vassar College invites applications for the position of Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time benefits-eligible, ten-month position. The individual will report to the Director of Sports Medicine. Weekend, holiday, early morning and/or late evening hours are required. The starting date for this position is August 1, 2019.
Responsible for working with the Director of Sports Medicine in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, referral and rehabilitation of injuries/illnesses of student-athletes;
Assisting in the daily health care of student-athletes and athletic training room operation;
Recording and maintaining appropriate medical records for treatment given;
Daily practice coverage and travel responsibilities;
Assisting with the scheduling of appointments for treatment and the coordination of health insurance related processes;
Opportunity to participate as a preceptor in clinical instruction of athletic training students;
Adhere to the communication protocol between staff, coaches and student-athletes;
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Master's degree in related field preferred; NATABOC Certification; State of New York Licensure/Certificate (must have prior to employment); A minimum of one to three years' experience, three to five years' experience at the collegiate level preferred; Prior successful experience in the field with evidence of the ability to relate well to students, department members, and colleagues; Strong work ethic, strong rehabilitation skills and the ability to multi-task; Ability to work independently with strong verbal and written communication skills; A clear understanding of the NCAA Division III philosophy; A valid driver's license, official academic transcript(s) and the successful result of a background check are also mandatory; Must be able to work on weekends and evenings, including limited travel; Proficiency in ATS injury software is preferred.
