The Otis Hawkins Center for Academic & Personal Excellence is a high performing culture at the University of Florida dedicated to supporting our student athletes’ academic success. The Learning Services Program is currently seeking a full-time Learning Specialist. This position will join a staff that specializes in working with student-athletes with learning disabilities and that are academically under prepared, by providing them with adequate learning strategies to achieve their academic success. The Learning Services staff at the Athletic Association is currently comprised of 2 full-time Learning Specialists and 3 Assistant Learning Specialists who report to the Director of Learning Services. This position will close October 18, 2019.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field of expertise and one year of directly related experience working with students with disabilities within a K-12 or higher education is required. A Master’s Degree and two years of experience with these parameters is preferred. Must be detail oriented, maintain a high level of confidentiality, and have proven problem solving skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team is essential. The capacity to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds is essential. Availability to work a non-standard work schedule which may include evenings, weekends and holidays and overnight travel is also required.
