The Event Manager is responsible for planning, management, and coordination of events at The Jerome Schottenstein Center. Manages both OSU Athletic Department and special events hosted at or by the Jerome Schottenstein Center and CASE. Coordinates services and equipment orders in support of events. Serves as primary Production Manager for select special and private events. Assists with the supervision of the event staff, including but not limited to Guest Services, Security, Parking and Public Safety. Prepares events day information sheets, post event summaries, event expense reporting and incident report summaries. Coordinates guests needs for events in meeting rooms and practice pavilion. Works with the Guest Services teams to ensure a high standard of guest experience. CAD skills recommended. This position works in a creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, sport & leisure studies or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in planning, managing and coordinating events; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse staff and customer base; excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be willing to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
