The Director, Event Production will provide overall leadership, expertise and guidance in the production of all events at the Schottenstein Center and select CASE produced events. Responsible for overall management, communication and workflow of the Event Production staff. Prepare and manage event budgets, ensure contractual obligations and company policies and procedures are maintained. Develop and manage relationships with vendors, contractors, campus departments and staff connected with the delivery of events. Provides oversight and support for management of Stagehand labor pool. Maintain direct coordination with the CASE booking team to coordinate event execution. May serve as primary Production Manager for select events. Work with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic planning as it relates to the Event Production Department. This position works in a creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 5-8 years of experience as a stage manager in arena or performing arts facility; knowledge of stage, sound equipment, methods, materials, and tools; progressive supervisory experience and proven experience dealing with a wide range of individuals including students; strong interpersonal and team building skills. Must be willing to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
