This is a full-time position with benefits. The Assistant Director of Compliance & Governance reports directly to the Assistant Commissioner - Compliance & Governance and Legal Counsel and is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Big 12 compliance program with additional duties in the area of governance.
Process Conference-administered waiver requests and serve as the primary contact.
Research and process interpretations of NCAA and Big 12 rules and serve as the secondary contact.
Research and create compliance- and governance-related educational documents.
Manage the Level III violations reporting process and annual violations reports.
Oversee the National Letter of Intent program.
Manage all compliance-related forms.
Assist with planning and hosting the Summer Rules Workshop and serve as the secondary contact.
Assist with teleconference and meeting preparation for the Faculty Athletics Representatives and Directors of Compliance.
Participate in monthly CCACA teleconferences and the annual in-person meeting.
Assist with tracking proposed NCAA legislation.
Assist with updating the Conference Handbook.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years full-time experience in rules compliance on a campus or at a conference is required. A master’s degree or law degree is preferred.
Applicants should have strong knowledge of, and demonstrated interest in, intercollegiate athletics and familiarity of NCAA rules.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, show initiative and meet established goals and deadlines.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat, Power Point, and Outlook.
Travel, along with evening and weekend hours occasionally required.
