The Executive Director executes the day-to-day operations of the Federation in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, Bylaws, and other legislation of the Federation and the NCAA. The Executive Director shall make reports, conduct meetings, maintain regular season competition schedules, supervise officiating programs, gather and keep statistics and other data, and otherwise administer and manage the affairs of the Federation as directed.
Responsibilities of the Executive Director
To implement Federation policy as approved by the Administrative Committee.
To develop an annual operating budget for approval by the Administrative Committee.
To maintain complete and accurate financial records and perform all necessary financial transactions consistent with the operation of Federation business in accordance with the budget approved by the Administrative Committee and in accordance with federal and state requirements.
To meet as necessary with constituent coaches’ groups to address issues and concerns relative to their sports and institutions including regular season competition schedules, officiating, championships and access the NCAA post-season.
To act as the coaches’ liaison to the Administrative Committee engaging with campus administrators and charter conference office staff in the process.
To enter into contracts and legal documents affecting routine and day-to-day operations and duties of the Federation.
To act responsibly in the capacity necessary to further the business of the Federation in accordance with the provisions, principles and spirit of the MPSF Constitution and the NCAA.
To hire and supervise Federation staff as necessary.
To perform other duties as directed by the Administrative Committee.
Experience: Five to ten years senior management level employment in intercollegiate athletics on campus or in a conference office.
Skills: Demonstrated ability to work independently. Strong business and interpersonal communication abilities. Leadership skills to effectively manage the expectations of a diverse group of sports coaches. Familiarity with NCAA governance and championships.

The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) is a multi-sport federated conference serving charter conference member institutions from the Big West, Mountain West, Pac-12, West Coast and Western Athletic Conferences. The Executive Director reports to an Administrative Committee which includes conference staff and institutional representatives from the five charter conferences. The MPSF conducts regular season competition and championships in the team sports of men’s volleyball, men’s water polo and women’s water polo. Individual sport championships are conducted by the MPSF in the sports of men’s and women’s gymnastics, men’s and women’s indoor track & field and men’s and women’s swimming & diving.
