The Athletic Business Manager will be responsible for oversight of the business operations of the University of Louisville Athletic Department including budget, finance, accounting, travel, accounts payable, accounts receivable and reporting. This position will serve as the liaison between the Athletic Department and the University on all business matters. This position will report to the Associate Athletic Director for Finance.
Assist with oversight of the finance and business activities of the Athletic Department including accounting, purchasing, finance, reporting and travel. Manage bi-weekly and salaried Business Office staff
Review and approve purchase requisitions, travel expense vouchers, and procurement card charges for assigned sports and operational areas to ensure compliance with University, NCAA and Conference policies/procedure
Prepare monthly financial reports for Associate Director AD including revenue and expense, contingency analysis, and financial aid. Analyze monthly financial reports comparing actuals to budget ensuring accuracy. Discuss monthly activity with coaches and department heads to ensure expenses are in-line with budget.
Oversee the monthly reconciliation process for Athletics. Ensure all accounts are reconciled and reported to the University. Perform audit and reconciliation of all athletic events reconciling the general ledger to Archtics data
Other duties-EADA, Audited Financial Statements, open records requests, internal audits, hotel authorizations, financial projections, contract review
Oversee the annual budget preparation process for the Athletic Department including developing revenue/expense projections and serving as point of contact with University. Assist coaches and department heads with annual budget preparation
Other duties as assigned by the Associate AD for Finance and/or the Director of Athletics
Master's degree in Business, Finance or related field, and six years of related work experience. Addition experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade EH. Salary Minimum $56,064.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Experience with strategic business planning and budgeting
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Peoplesoft and Archtics, or similarly comparable finance and ticketing software programs
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills including verbal and written
At least five (5) years of related work experience as a collegiate Business Manager or similarly related business function position within a collegiate athletic department
