The Associate Athletics Director for External Operations will develop, implement, evaluate and refine comprehensive communication and marketing strategies for all areas of athletics development and external revenue including the annual fund, major gifts, capital campaign, corporate sponsorships, events and stewardship, and alumni engagement.
The Associate Athletics Director will be responsible for creative and measurable communications and marketing plans for athletics fund raising that encompass advertising, market research, publications, digital and social media, as well as other aspects of strategic marketing and communications. The Associate Athletics Director will use innovative, data-driven marketing strategies to drive growth of the donor base for annual and major gifts, and to strengthen the philanthropic message of the Setters Club.
The Associate Athletics Director is responsible for expanding the corporate partnership program with local businesses, and working closely with the department’s third-party media rights holder on regional and national partners to generate additional revenue for the department.
The Associate Athletics Director will develop and implement strategies to the Pace Athletic brand to generate additional revenue for the department through corporate partners as well as merchandise sales via online team stores and at select competitions.
The Associate Athletics Director will provide a high level of customer service to donors through the creation and implementation of effective communication strategies.
The Associate Athletics Director will collaborate closely with the communications, marketing, media relations and digital media staff in the Athletics Department, University Relations, and Development/Alumni Relations
The Associate Athletics Director will oversee the university’s licensing and merchandising program.
The Associate Athletics Director will oversee department golf outings and other select special and team fundraising events. The Associate Athletics Director will work with Head Coaches to establish team fundraising goals.
The Associate Athletics Director assists the director in the overall management of the Department of Athletics and Recreation, and oversee the marketing and communications functions within the athletics department in an effort to build the Pace Athletics brand and establish an increased interest from external audiences.
The Associate Athletics Director will supervise the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications as well as varsity athletic teams as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
-Bachelors Degree required. Masters Preferred.
-At least 5 years’ marketing, athletic communications, and promotions experience in athletics and/or educational setting.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Strong presentation skills.
