Provision of general mental health services (evaluation, treatment and education) to student athletes. Assist with coordination and provision of consultation and relevant training to coaches, athletic trainers, and other athletic department staff. The position is responsible for supporting implementation of philosophies, policies, and procedures of counseling service operations for student-athletes. Additionally, the position is responsible for supporting and completing administrative tasks and responsibilities for clinical services and the overall function of the department.
This is a full-time position with the Department of Athletics. The position will report to the Assistant Athletic Director/Director of Counseling and Sport Psychology and Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Performance, with a dotted line relationship with the Director of Student Counseling Services and take close direction from the team physicians as a member of an integrative care team.
Master's degree in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work with 2-4 years of experience in Emerging Adult Population Expertise in one or more of the following areas is required: experience with stress management, substance abuse and alcohol education, eating disorders, crisis management, depression, anxiety, grief, identity development, learning disabilities and other psychological issues related to injury, rehabilitation and return to sport in competitive athletes.
