Randolph College invites nominations and applications for the position of Director of Athletics. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with vision, dedication, and integrity to oversee the management and future development of a growing NCAA Division III athletics program. Randolph College, in Lynchburg, Virginia, is a private, academically selective, liberal arts college with a current enrollment of approximately 600. Randolph College is a member of the highly competitive Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and currently offers ten team sports for women and eight for men.
The Director must be strongly committed to the Division III philosophy that balances athletic participation and success with academic achievement. The Director is responsible for the management and administration of all aspects of the intercollegiate athletics program including the following: overseeing athletic recruiting through training, monitoring and ensuring accountability of coaching staff; cooperating with appropriate administrative units to enhance recruitment and retention of students; overseeing the academic progress of student-athletes; assuring compliance with college, conference, NCAA, and federal regulations including Title IX; managing and evaluating all Athletics personnel (currently 15 direct reports); overseeing budget, including formulation of annual budget and monitoring operating expenses; monitoring athletic facilities and collaborating with college community partners for facilities maintenance, upkeep, and improvement; cultivating Alumni support (working in collaboration with the Advancement Division); and actively promoting the college and the Athletic Program on campus, in the community, and in the region.
Applicants should have athletics administrative experience. A Master's Degree and previous coaching experience are preferred. This is a 12-month position that reports to the Provost.
