Methodist University invites applications for the position of Sports Information Director. The University is a member of the USA South Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, sponsoring 20 varsity sports.
This is a full-time position with benefits. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. Responsibilities will include the planning, developing and conducting of all public information activities related to the university’s athletic program to both internal and external contingencies. Past experience in a collegiate sports information office, as well as knowledge of the SIDEARM content management system and video streaming platforms, as the successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, writing and editing press releases; designing game-day programs and game notes; keeping statistics based on current NCAA guidelines; managing the departments social media accounts; organizing interviews for coaches, staff and student-athletes with local, regional and national media; daily maintenance and oversight of the athletics website; nominating student-athlete(s) for weekly and postseason awards; home event management and staffing to provide an in-game statistician for all home athletic contests; marketing and promotions, manage work study staff, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
