Position Summary:

Campbell University invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletics Director for External Affairs.  The candidate will report to the Senior Associate Athletics Director, External Affairs.  This position will manage, develop and implement marketing and promotional, including student and community outreach, game day atmosphere, and other elements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Under the supervision of the Senior Associate Athletics Director, this position is responsible for the marketing, promotions, game day programming and fan experience for home events to enhance the game day experience for fans, donors, students, alumni and greater community
• Develops External Engagement plans to enhance the University brand and fan engagement, game attendance, and grow revenue streams
• Advance Campbell University’s mission and outreach to the surrounding community through partnerships, digital media and other strategic mechanisms to enhance our brand
• Work with the Campbell Ticket Office on fan experience programs, ticket discounts, and promotions to increase attendance and revenue
• Assists with the fulfillment of corporate sponsorship contracts as it relates to signage, in-game promotions, CAMELvision, and print materials
• Assists with the development of printed materials and social media concepts that promote Campbell University and the Department of Athletics
• Collaborate with on-campus organizations, campus leaders, and community members to execute successful events
• Athletic liaison to marching band, pep band, cheerleading team, dance team, and mascots
• Oversight of interns and/or student staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Senior Associate Athletic Director and/or Director of Athletics.

Education/Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree preferred
• Four (4) or more years’ experience in athletic administration and/or marketing and comprehensive computer knowledge and skills. 
• Experience in a higher education or non-profit sector is also preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail are essential.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Suite, and the Internet
• Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
• Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
• Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations.
• Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
• Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
• Uphold, and abide by, Campbell University policies and procedures.
