The Assistant Director in SAAS will be responsible for monitoring academic eligibility and progress while providing academic support for assigned student-athletes in revenue generating sports, advising student-athletes in terms of course selection and NCAA rules eligibility, certification, and progress towards degree. This position will also have oversight of 1 full-time employee (Athletic Academic Advisor) and various administrative oversights and responsibilities.

Additional Duties include:

Monitoring study hall and tutorial areas as assigned, organize and implement recruiting efforts including coordinating with faculty, on-campus partners, and academic presentation.

Coordinating the book distribution process, reviewing book list from financial aid and sending to the FSU Bookstore, documenting when books are received, comparing books to receipts to book lists, coordinating book pickup for each team, returning books from classes that have been dropped, and reviewing bookstore invoice for inaccuracies.

Serving as a liaison between Undergraduate Studies, Athletic Department, faculty, Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, and other Academic Departments. Involved in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes which includes interaction with recruits and their families, coaches, guidance counselors, and alumni. Has occasional contact with the media and officials from the ACC and NCAA.

Bachelors degree and four years of related experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
