Salary Range/Pay Rate:
$12.50 per hour (approximately $26,000 yearly estimate plus paid overtime) in the first year; potential to earn $14.00 (approximately $29,120 yearly estimate plus paid overtime) after completion of first year with a successful review and budget approval. Paid biweekly (26 pay periods).

This position plays an integral role in the external department, which strives to create ‘The Best Fan Experience in the Big 12 Conference.’ Selected candidates will receive unparalleled experience and gain valuable skills needed for an entry-level full-time position upon completion of the two-year position.
An example of job responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of promotions and game entertainment at K-State Athletics events, with an emphasis on increasing revenue, raising attendance, and enhancing promotions to maximize the fan experience. Assistants have direct oversight over the development, coordination, and implementation of fan experience and marketing plans for assigned sports and initiatives.
Other opportunities and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assuming responsibility for all in-game marketing and promotions associated with assigned events, such as the production of run of show timelines and public-address scripts, organization of in-venue entertainment and time-out coordination with band, cheer and dance, as well as activation of sponsorships.
Developing and implementing student marketing plans with strategies to increase and maintain high levels of student involvement and attendance. Developing marketing materials and ancillary content for use on social media platforms and digital signage. Coordinating in-game elements including anthem singers, halftime acts and timeout entertainment. Coordinating K-State’s presence at community events and grassroots fan initiatives.
Providing leadership in overseeing a staff of undergraduate interns while assisting the Fan Experience and Sales team with marketing K-State’s sport programs.
Managing the Junior Wildcat Kids Club. Coordinating K-State’s presence at community events and grassroots fan initiatives.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, sports marketing or related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office
Commitment to two-year position
Ability to adhere to NCAA and Big 12 Conference rules
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of two years of experience working in a collegiate athletic marketing office
Experience with an Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator)
Other Requirements:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and outside in extreme weather conditions.
